Hassan Sedky Becomes First Egyptian to Chair IWBF Players' Committee

Hassan Sedky, a player for Egypt's national wheelchair basketball team, has been elected Chair of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Players' Committee, becoming the first Egyptian to hold the position.

Sedky's appointment was confirmed during the inaugural meeting of the newly elected Players' Committee at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland, following the IWBF's latest elections.

The meeting brought together player representatives from around the world and was held with support from a grant provided by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Sedky's election marks a milestone for Egyptian para sport, giving Egypt representation in a leadership role within the international governing body for wheelchair basketball. The Players' Committee represents athletes' interests and contributes to discussions on the development and future direction of the sport.
